Dear New Member
Thank you for becoming a member and supporter of the biodynamic agriculture association of Ireland.
As a member your details will be added to the mailing list and you will receive our quarterly newsletter along with news and updates.
You will also have the option of being added to our WhatsApp group.
The “BD Today “ WhatsApp group is a great resource where members can ask questions and share information and experiences.
We host a Spring and Autumn preparation making day where we come together to fill the horns for BD 500. We also make 501 and compost preps and it’s a great opportunity to get hands on experience with the preparations.
Other events include farm walks throughout the season and we also work with NOTS to provide a two day “introduction to biodynamics” which is held on a working biodynamic farm where practice as well as theory is covered.
Over the past few years, we have worked hard making and developing high quality Irish preparations. We now have 500P and 501 available through the shop on our website http://www.biodynamicagriculture.ie/ (Please note that you must be logged in to view the Shop) More information is available on request. With regard to the biodynamic compost preps, this is a work in progress. We hope to also have them available in our web shop in the very near future. In the meantime, we recommend biodynamic services for your compost prep needs. https://www.biodynamie-services.fr/en/biodynamic-preparations/
We are also working with potentized preparations as this opens new options and possibilities for farmers and growers to work with preparations and in reality, is the only practical way to get the patterns of the preparations out on the widest possible areas on land. Other areas we have been working on is the stirring and application along with the proper storage of preps, creating protocols for best practice, looking at new possibilities to make the application of preparations more efficient… and making equipment available for practitioners. Again, more information is available on request.
The board of the association is a small group of volunteer members who have busy lives outside the association. We encourage and welcome members to get involved. It’s a great way to accelerate learning through working together. We are always open to members hosting farm walks or hosting workshops.
The area of research is also something which needs to be explored, working with both live and potentized preps in different contexts. We endeavor to keep up to date with research from around the world but there little or no research on biodynamics in Ireland at the moment and so it an area which could really help with the development of biodynamics. We Invite you to be you own researcher and share your finding with others.
As a member you will have access to restricted areas of our website, one of these areas is our Map, that can be used post not only your own location but also help you find other members across Ireland.
Link to view the Map: https://www.biodynamicagriculture.ie/map/
(Remember you must first be logged in to view these areas)
We appreciate your support and look forward to working together to create a strong and vibrant biodynamic community in Ireland.
Yours sincerely
Noel Higgins
